![]() ![]() The dates of the songs show that they have been recorded between 20, in such a different a range of time, you would have expected it to be inconsistent. This makes the whole thing seem a lot more personal, more about the music almost. The songs don’t correlate to give a bigger message or story, it really is just a selection of raw tracks that are untitled and unmastered that Kendrick wanted us to hear. In saying that however, I don’t know if we could consider this a real Kendrick Lamar album truly because there is no real theme here. He’s not completely scrapping his rule book and starting fresh, he is merely pushing the boundaries of what he created in TPAB, and it creates something truly memorable. First things first, this is still completely the Kendrick we have grown to love and respect.
